Bobby Stein, Guild Wars 2 Associate Narrative Director, has written an intriguing article for the MMO about “shepherding tales” with an emphasis on various experiences.
“What we’re after with narrative design is a hybrid of two key technologies: game mechanisms and narrative presentation,” he stated. “Our writers concentrate on characterisation, story, and voice-over, but it is the game designers that create the scenes and sequences that give the narrative its weight.”
