LeBron James and Kyrie Irving are fully aware that the NBA is one of the most powerful organizations in the world.
Back then, NBA superstars would seldom bring up the topic of politics. With four-time MVP LeBron James and seven-time All-Star Kyrie Irving at the helm, the contemporary NBA seems to be the polar opposite.
James is well-known for being outspoken about his political beliefs. With the assistance of social media, the Los Angeles Lakers great was able to inform his millions of fans about his views on controversial topics like racism and equality.
Following the shooting of Ma’Khia Bryant, a juvenile who was shot by a police officer, James used to social media to vent his frustrations with the authorities in a controversial post that he subsequently removed.
As anticipated, James’ performance elicited a range of responses, the most noteworthy of which came from former US President Donald Trump.
According to Trump, James should “concentrate” on what he does best—”basketball”—and begin assisting the NBA in its recovery from its “lowest television ratings in history.”

In reaction to Ibrahimovic’s remark, James stated, “I preach about my people and I preach about equality, social justice, racism, systematic voting, voter oppression [and] things that happen on in our society.”
“There’s no way I’d ever stick to athletics because I know how important this platform and my voice are,” he said.
Apart from James, Kyrie Irving, a former teammate and current point guard for the Brooklyn Nets, is another NBA player who has been vocal about his political views.
Kyrie Irving had said that he did not join the Nets squad for a few of games earlier this year due to “personal issues,” which he subsequently acknowledged were also connected to politics.
Despite the cynics’ criticisms, Irving seemed unaffected and continues to voice his political views.
In fact, one of his most recent tweets expresses his admiration for the community once again.
“I’ve taken off my mask. Now it’s your turn to remove yours. “Do not be afraid,” Irving wrote.
People first mistook Irving’s comment for a reference to his recent work on COVID-19. However, he subsequently expanded on the same tweet, saying:
“To ‘mask off,’ it is to stop being someone you aren’t and to stop lying to yourself,” the Nets forward said. “It’s the moment you realize who you really are and can go about with NO FEAR in a world that exposes a lot of the masks individuals wear to conceal who they really are. Relax.”
Irving seems to be urging people to not be scared and to do what they believe is best for them once again.
Fortunately for James and Irving, no matter how many political topics they discuss, they remain on top of their game.
James is still regarded as one of, if not the best, basketball players of all time. During the previous season, “King James” averaged 25 points, eight assists, and eight rebounds per game while shooting 51 percent from the floor.
Irving, on the other hand, is one of the greatest point guards in the NBA today and is a key component of the championship-caliber Brooklyn Nets.
Despite missing the playoffs, “Uncle Drew” averaged 27 points, six assists, and five rebounds per game in the 2020-21 season.
