Last week the first Omicron case was discovered in Long Beach. The victims were two brothers staying at a hotel when they both contracted a parasitic infection that put them into comas, though it’s not yet clear whether or not they will survive. Experts say this is just the tip of an iceberg and more cases are likely to be found around California over coming weeks due to warmer weather being conducive for mosquitos carrying these types of infections.
